Lichfield DC's wider Birmingham Road site is more than just a city centre redevelopment — it’s a gateway to the city. As part of a long-term vision, this masterplan is set to redefine the way people arrive in Lichfield, linking the station to the historic centre and creating a vibrant, welcoming neighbourhood.
What’s Happening in the Area
Over the coming years, future phases of the Birmingham Road Site will be transformed into a lively new city quarter. Once a place to simply pass through, it will become a destination in its own right — connecting Lichfield City Station with the Cathedral Quarter. The vision includes beautiful green spaces and a new Linear Park, high-quality homes that respect the city’s character, welcoming shops and cafés, and a carefully designed gateway that honours Lichfield’s heritage while embracing its future.
Adjacent to the site will be the revitalised Three Spires shopping centre, due for completion in Spring 2026. This will include a multi-screen cinema operated by Everyman, and food and drink outlets, such as the national chain, The Botanist. The development also includes a roof terrace, outdoor seating and a public plaza. This will only add to the area's leisure and culinary offerings.
